	WHAT THE BOOT CAMP IS


	The Boot Camp is designed to take your screenplay as far as possible in both creative development and writing between the beginning of the Boot Camp Saturday morning, and the following Friday afternoon -- whether your movie is now a gleam in your eye or a completed first draft.


	The Boot Camp follows up with focused story editing in the next weeks and months until your project is finished.

The goal is to perfect your project to the point where you and the instructor agree that it is ready to

Be presented to an agent, manager, producer, or studio.

Entered in a competition such as the Nicholl Fellowship.

Submitted to a festival.

Produced independently.

	Instructor Robert Jordan teaches all day Saturday and Sunday, the first two days of the Boot Camp). Students not participating in the Boot Camp may attend these first two days of lecture. On Monday, Boot Camp participants begin individual, one-on-one meetings -- structuring, sequencing, and writing -- which continue through Friday.

	A story editor for numerous production companies, Jordan teaches the story editing process to the group each evening from 7-9 PM (read 10 or 11 PM), using the projects of each participant.

	On the first evening, the Boot Camp reads one of Jordan's scripts & analyzes it (or rips it apart) according to the story editing process. Boot Camp members are now suitably clothed in thick skin for the remainder of the Camp.
